Escaping the city and setting up camp on an old family plot in western Maryland, the band converted a 19th century barn to a recording studio and tracked the entire album in two days. The effort resulted in 11 songs, mostly originals with a few old time standards mixed in. The new album boasts a number of firsts for the band. This is the first album to feature new member Jacob Panic on banjo, adding a dynamic lead to many of the songs. The use of new instruments like a full drum kit, bowed saw and electric guitar helped push the band’s traditional and homespun acoustic sound in a fuller direction. Longtime collaborator, Baltimore pedal steel legend Dave Hadley, also returns to play a prominent role on the album.
